Our network strategy is based upon providing the individuals who use our services a comprehensive provider network through directly-contracted and, depending on the geographic location, indirectly contracted providers. We are generally able to offer network access in most areas of the country, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Additionally, we review individual network accessibility to ensure appropriate access to a full complement of providers.
Our primary network partners are AETNA, and Sanus Health Corporation.
Aetna is a leading provider of health care and related group benefits in the U.S., serving over 15.4 million medical members, 13.3 million dental members, 10.2 million pharmacy members and 15.2 million group insurance members. Aetna is highly regarded by U.S. medical providers as a well-established, financially sound healthcare organization, with a track record as a quality leader. The size and scope of Aetna’s network is a competitive differential compared to many national carriers in the U.S. Aetna’s negotiated discounts are some of the most aggressive in the industry, averaging 52%, and Aetna strives to have true partnerships with contracted providers to ensure not only cost effective care, but also safe, efficient care with appropriate outcomes.
Although Aetna has no connection with UIB International Insurance Products, our insureds benefit from Aetna’s extraordinary provider network, made possible by a third party administrative agreement. Presently, Aetna has contracts with over 750,000 health care providers, including more than 442,000 primary care and specialist doctors and over 4,400 hospitals in the U.S.
